Unit 1

Understand multidigit place value to 1,000,000. Read, write, and represent multidigit whole numbers in standard and expanded form. Compare two multidigit numbers using >, =, and <. Round multidigit whole numbers. Fluently add and subtract multidigit numbers. Solve multistep word problems.
Build a Number
Unit 2

Interpret multiplication as comparison, for example, 35 is 5 times as many as 7. Multiply to solve word problems Multiply multidigit numbers by one digit and explain the calculations by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.

Unit 3

Multiply 2 digit numbers by 2 digits and explain the calculations by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models. Multiply to solve word problems.

Unit 4

Divide 3 or 4 dividends with onedigit divisors, including interpreting the remainders. Multiply or divide to solve word problems.

Unit 5

Find factor pairs for numbers to 100 and tell if numbers are prime or composite. Understand Patterns with numbers or shapes.

Unit 6

Understand equivalent fractions. Compare fractions less than 1 whole with symbols >, <, or =.

Unit 7

Add and subtract fractions, with like denominators. Decompose a fraction into a sum of fractions with the same denominator in more than one way. Ex: 3/8=1/8+1/8+1/8; 3/8= 1/8+2/8 Add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators. Decompose a mixed number into a sum of fractions with the same denominator in more than one way. Ex. 2 1/8= 1+1+1/8= 8/8+8/8+1/8.

Unit 8

Multiply a fraction by a whole number. Solve word problems involving multiplication of a fraction by a whole number

Unit 9

Read, write, and represent decimal notation for fractions with denominators 10 or 100. Compare two decimals to hundredths using symbols >, <, or = and justify the conclusions. Express and add fractions with denominators 10 and 100.

Unit 10

Understand Patterns with numbers or shapes. Identify and draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines in 2dimensional figures Classify twodimensional figures. Understand line of symmetry for a twodimensional figure.

Unit 11

Measure angles Break apart an angle into 2 smaller angles and know that the larger angle is the sum of the two smaller angles.

Unit 12

Know the relative size of customary and metric measurement units Convert equivalent customary and metric measurements. Solve measurement word problems. Add and subtract fractions on a line plot.

Unit 13
Solve multistep word problems. Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles.
